Matthiessen State Park is located just south of Starved Rock State Park. If you're visiting one, and have the time, it's a good idea to visit the other as well!The park is comprised of two areas. The "Dells Area" is located where a small creek runs through a sandstone canyon, eventually into the Vermillion River (which in turn runs into the Illinois River). A trail runs around the entire rim of the canyon, and another runs up the middle. This waterfall is located in an area called the Giant's Bathtub.
