Golden and Silver Falls
June 04, 2011Golden and Silver Falls are a pair of waterfalls on different tributaries of the Coquille River, about 30 miles east of Coos Bay, Oregon. A couple short trails lead to views of the falls.
Kings and Elk Mountains

Sweet Creek
May 09, 2010Sweet Creek is located about 10 miles south of Mapleton, Oregon in the central Oregon Coast Range (not far from Florence, OR).
A well-constructed trail hugs the walls of a waterfall-laden canyon for about a couple miles.
Tillamook State Forest
February 24, 2010The Tillamook State Forest is located in Northwest Oregon. There's a really good map of the forest put out by the state forest agency. If you plan to spend any time in the forest, it's a good idea to pick one of these maps up.
Drift Creek
November 25, 2009There are two "Drift Creeks" near the Oregon coast, within 50 miles of each other. The northern Drift Creek Falls is near Lincoln City, the southern Drift Creek Wilderness is near Waldport. Both harbor small examples of old growth forest that's nearly all gone.
Cummins Creek
November 06, 2009The Cummins Creek Wilderness is adjacent to Cape Perpetua National Scenic Area along the coast of Oregon - just south of Yachats, OR. The Cook's Ridge Trail heads up from a parking area in the Scenic Area. This trail is not in the Wilderness area, but rather north of it.

Marys Peak
November 06, 2004Marys Peak is located just west of Corvallis, OR. Hiking trails reach the top of the peak from various elevations. But, it is possible to drive nearly to the top of the mountain.
You'll need a NW forest pass to park at the trailheads... and/or a Sno-Park pass in winter.
