The Starvation Creek trailhead is located at exit 54 (eastbound only) along I-84 in Oregon. For reference, Dog Mountain is located just across the Columbia River, to the north.
This part of the Columbia Gorge isn't as heavily visited as the more well-known attractions further west, but the trailhead does provide the best access for those wanting to climb up Mt. Defiance. The trails toward Mt. Defiance are located on the west side of the parking lot - you have to walk along the road for a short way. The short walk to Starvation Creek Falls is more obvious to the east.
